Lynda Sue Williams Miller, cherished wife, mother, sister, and friend, 78, passed away surrounded by family on October 8, 2024, at Prisma Health North Greenville Hospital in Travelers Rest, South Carolina, after a long illness. Lynda was born in Leaksville, North Carolina to Ralph and Lucille Williams (Nee Gilley) on January 29,1946. She lived her young life in Eden, North Carolina, where she met her husband, Donald Miller. After graduating from Morehead High School in 1964, she went on to take a business course at the University of North Carolina at Greensboro. Donald and Lynda married in 1966 and went on to live in various places throughout the southeast, eventually settling in Greenville, South Carolina where they raised two sons, Eric and Joseph Miller. She was known by many as a fun-loving and thoughtful lady, a Christian, and one who loved and supported her family. She enjoyed traveling to the beach and mountains, reading, crossword puzzles, and cheering on her favorite football team, the Auburn Tigers, of whom she became a fan after her son Joseph joined the team in 1996.
In her later years, after Don retired, Lynda and Don enjoyed visiting Shem Creek in Mount Pleasant, South Carolina, where they relished listening to live music and watching shrimp boats drift by. She also adopted two cats, Bubba and Puts, whom she adored. Lynda worshiped at Faith Free Presbyterian Church.
She is survived by her husband, Don Miller, of the home; two sons, Eric (Michelle) Miller of Lorton, Virginia and Joey Miller of Los Angeles, California; a sister, Beth Williamson of Boone, North Carolina; a brother, Al Williams (Trina) of Hickory, North Carolina; five grandchildren; three nieces; and two nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Ralph and Lucille Williams.
A graveside service will take place at Woodlawn Memorial Park in Greenville, South Carolina on Friday, October 18, 2024, at 1:00 pm. The public is welcome to attend.
