Linda Elkins, age 78 passed away on Wednesday, October 19, 2022. A lifelong resident of Greenville, SC, she was born on August 15, 1944, first daughter of the late Jack Warren and Dorothy Massey Galway.
Linda was a graduate of Greenville Senior High School where she was a majorette, and she attended Coker College in Hartsville, SC.
Linda was a devoted wife for over 56 years. Her loving husband, G. Kent Elkins, passed away earlier this year.
Linda is survived by her daughter, Leslie Anne Elkins of Philadelphia, PA; her son, daughter-in-law, and grandson, Brian Kent, Jennifer, and Ryley Kent Elkins of Simpsonville, SC; her brother, Richard Warren Galway Sr. of Greenville, SC; sister, Karen Anne Galway Lake of Sarasota, FL; as well as many more loving family members. She was predeceased by two brothers, John Russell Galway and Gregory Wesley Galway.
A visitation for Linda will be held Sunday, October 23, 2022 from 1:00 PM to 1:45 PM at Mackey Funerals and Cremations at Woodlawn Memorial Park, 1 Pine Knoll Drive, Greenville, SC 29609 with a funeral service to follow at 2:00 PM in the funeral home chapel. Burial will take place immediately after the funeral in Woodlawn Memorial Park.
The family requests in lieu of flowers, donations be made to JDRF the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation.
