John Henry Hunter, 83, of Greer went to be with his Heavenly Father on Sunday, February 11, 2024, after a long courageous battle with cancer. He was born on his family farm in Knox Township, Ohio. John was the son of the late Joseph Herbert Hunter and Evelyn Viola Bandy Hunter of Ohio.
John was a graduate of Akron University and a retired mechanical engineer. He worked for GE, JE Sirrine, and Fluor Daniel. John was an expert in many things and he loved solving problems and fixing things, old tractors, and old cars. He was a long-time and very active member of both Lee Road United Methodist Church of Taylors and The Foothills Antique Power Association of SC (Tractors).
Surviving are his wife, Annette Hunter of Greer; daughter Julie (Scotty) Burgess of Greer; two sons Joseph Hunter of Greer; Michael (Janet) MacGregor of Greer; and three granddaughters Mary Beth, Laura and Rebekah.
Memorial Service will be held 3:00 pm on Sunday, February 18th at Lee Road United Methodist Church in Taylors by Pastor Rusty Godfrey. A small reception will follow in the social hall.
