He was the son of the late Jay and Faye May of Laurens, SC.
He graduated from The Citadel, Class of ‘68. He served in the U.S. Army before beginning a distinguished banking career. He enjoyed many friendships through his associations with The Citadel, the banking industry, and The Carolina Shag Club.
He is survived by his loving wife of 51 years, Donna, daughter, Karen (Derek) of Atlanta, son, Scott (Natausha) of Mt. Pleasant, grandson, Jackson May, and many cousins.
The family would like to thank the staff of The Pines at Greenville and PruittHealth Hospice.
A Celebration of Life Drop-in will be held on Monday, August 14, 2023 from 4-7 pm at Larkins Sawmill, 22 Graves Drive, Greenville, SC 29609.
An interment service will be held at Summerall Chapel, The Citadel, Charleston, S.C. on November 11, 2023 at 11:00 am.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in his name to The Citadel Foundation (Class of ‘68 Scholarship Fund), 171 Moultrie Street, Charleston, SC 29409.
