James Rodney Jordan, 83, passed away peacefully Thursday morning October 29, 2015.
Born in West Pelzer, SC, he was the son of the late William Thomas and Pauline Rowe Jordan.
Mr. Jordan was an alumnus of Mars Hill College and attended Clemson University. He honorably served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict and was retired from Appleton Electric with over 35 years service in sales. He was a faithful charter member of St. Matthew United Methodist where he served on various committees and was a member of the Aldersgate Sunday School Class. More importantly, he will be remembered as a loving and devoted husband, father and grandfather.
He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Ellen Cunningham Jordan; his sons and daughters-in-law, James R. Jr. and Amy Jordan of Marietta, GA and Robert G. and Beth Jordan of Lawrenceville, GA; his sister, Barbara Gibson of Weaverville, NC; and his granddaughters, Laura McCarty and husband, Mark, and Kailee and Kira Jordan.
A service to celebrate his life will be at 3 o'clock Sunday, November 1, 2015 at St. Matthew United Methodist Church with the Reverend Steven Brown officiating. The family will receive friends following the service at the church. The committal will be private.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to St. Matthew United Methodist Church.
