Jackie Burns McCown went to be with his Lord on February 2, 2021. He was born in Pikeville, KY and was a veteran of the United States Air Force. He met and married his wife of 54 years, Connie Kathleen Brown, while stationed in Savannah, GA. They later made a permanent home in Greenville, SC where they raised their two children Christina and Tracy.
Jackie enjoyed woodworking, cooking, travel and gardening. He was truly a “Jack of all Trades” and was always willing to lend a hand to a neighbor in need. At the end of the day you could always find him rocking his dogs, Baxter and Darby.
He is survived by his wife, Connie Brown McCown; two daughters, Christina Shorts and Tracy Bearden (Paxton); and five grandchildren, Robbie Shorts, Ariel Shorts, Sydney Bearden, Reid Bearden and Evan Bearden.
He was predeceased by his mother, father, two brothers and a sister.
The family will receive friends on Sunday, February 7, 2021 from 1:00 to 1:45pm at Brushy Creek Baptist Church at 4999 Old Spartanburg Road, Taylors, SC 29687. A memorial service will follow at 2pm.
