I worked with Horst for 8 years at Pierburg. He was a joy to work with. When he had German chocolate candy in the office, he would always tell me to get some before it's gone. We would always talk about the different restaurants we tried out. He would recommend different restaurants to me and I would do the same. Whenever he traveled to different places, he would recommend them to me also. I will miss him telling me, "you're the best" when getting shipments ready. I will miss him dearly.

The news of Horst's death reached me last week.
I feel incredibly, unspeakable sad.

The sport idol of my childhood, the No. 10 of the first men's team of the Trebur handball players, my work colleague before he emigrated to the USA with Katherine and the children ...

Again one of the good guys who left this world too early.
I'll keep him with me in good memories.

I recently viewed a photo of a snowball fight in front of his grandparents' house. We often played together, celebrated birthdays. With Horst a piece of our childhood passed away.

Horst always has been a good friend to us. We will never forget him. We shared a lot memories playing handball, skiing, had fun with the kids when they were young and spending time together. I worked with Horst for about 9 years and we became friends during that time and still were after I went back to Germany. I enjoyed his presence, his personality, his humor (especially after we had a few cold ones on Friday afternoon...) and now this earth has lost a great fellow way to soon. I will never forget you and wish you a safe journey, where ever it may lead you to.  Farewell. My thoughts are with your family...

When we were about 7-8 years old, we  started playing handball together with Horst. Handball was the biggest hobby of all of us. 
Around the age of 16 we started meeting every year on December 23rd for a cozy beer night. 
We played handball regularly, skied together, and spent many weekends together at dance parties. 
But over all the years we met regularly on December 23rd and when Horst moved to South Carolina, we thought about him each of these Christmas celebrations. Every time he visited Germany we spent cozy days with him. As exemple tractor tour around Trebur.
Horst was a fantastic handball and tennis player and a great friend to us. 
Horst, now you left us away much too early.

Horst and I became great friends over the last 20 years. Things don’t seem the same anymore without his vibrant personality. He would always talk about how crisp the air was. His German personality was full of fire. He would always talk about good food and his beer. 
Your presence has been severely missed and you have left a lasting impression upon us all.

Jenny my heart breaks for you losing Horst.  He was always pleasant when we were all together.  He loved you and it showed.  I know he will be missed.  My prayers are with you as you go thru this. Pray God will give you peace.  Love you❤️

I worked with Horst for 14 years. He was like a working father with me. He always gave great advice and was a wonderful Supervisor to me. I enjoyed spending time with Horst at Hockey games. Even had some good laughs after work a few times. I will miss seeing my mentor and friend at the hockey games.
