George served our country in The United States Navy and the Maritime Service during World War II.
George attended Baltimore Poly Technic Institute where he studied electrical engineering. He also attended Liberty University where he studied theology.
George enjoyed a career as an entrepreneur, business owner and pastor.
George had a fond interest in car restoration, especially the Ford Mustang, antique tractors, fishing, boating and being a witness for Christ.
George is survived by his wife of almost 71 years, Vickie Wallring.
Also surviving George are daughters Cheryl Lafferty (Mike) and Joyce Lewis (Bob); grandchildren Lauren McMurtrey (Trent), Creighton Greene (Linsey), Brad Lewis (Jayme) and Taylor Sprouse.
Also surviving are 10 great grand children to cherish George's memory.
A visitation for George will be held Sunday, May 5, 2019 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Mackey Funeral Home at Woodlawn Memorial Park, 1 Pine Knoll Dr., Greenville, SC 29609.
A funeral service for George will occur Monday, May 6, 2019 at 11:00 AM, in The Chapel at Mackey at Woodlawn Memorial Park,1 Pine Knoll Dr., Greenville, SC 29609. Burial with Military Honors will follow the service in Woodlawn Memorial Park.
