George D. Auld Jr., 88, of Greenville, SC, passed away on May 28th, 2022, at home in the loving arms of his family. George was born in Greenville, SC, in 1933 to George and Lillian Auld. George graduated from Clemson University in 1955 with a degree in Architecture and served in the Korean War as a 1st Lieutenant for the U.S. Army. George retired as an Architect from J.E. Sirrine after many years. George enjoyed playing tennis, baking, riding his motorcycle, and singing in the choir at John Knox Presbyterian Church, where he was a faithful member.
George was predeceased by his two Sisters; Mary Jane Linker and Carolyn Greyard; three Spouses; Patricia Vaughn, Betty Ballentine, and Sue Flanagan; Stepson Stephen Bennett, and Great Grandson Lucas Testerman. Surviving family include Daughters Virginia Auld, Lynn Auld Turner (Mark), Betsy Auld Rowell (Jeff), Stepson Larry Bennett, Stepdaughters Martha Lucas (Ben), Sandra Pierce (Robert); Grandchildren Ashley Testerman (Jeff), Austin Rowell (Tricia), Sara Turner, Abigail Rowell, Brinkley Lucas, Chesley Lucas, Benjamin Pierce; Great Grandchildren Avery, Dylan, and Cooper Testerman.
If you knew George Auld, you may know that his favorite place on earth was his home at Mountain Lake Colony, which he referred to affectionately as Mecca.
On June 3rd, at 11:00 am, there will be a private family service at John Knox Presbyterian Church. For those that would like to attend, there will be a visitation from 11:30-12:30 pm in the Chapel.
