She is survived by Philip Stone Patrick, her husband of 53 years, brother-in-law, Charles Hugh Patrick and wife, Sue; her son from Australia, Bradley I. Glen and wife Kelley and granddaughters, Brayden, Logan and Hayley. She is also survived by Anne Lowrance, Claire Lowrance Tomlinson (Joel), Erin Lowrance Harwood (Luke), Will and Becca Lowrance (Jessica, Grady, Kelly, Casey and Joe), Betty C. Alexander, Wade Carrigan (Phyllis), Tom Linker, Thad Linker, Grey Linker, Neel Linker, Sharron L. Clanton, Mason Linker, Vickie L. Yokeley, Susan L. Nelson and Wallace Beaver.
Born October 22,1938 in Mooresville, NC, she was the daughter of the late Lewis Wallace Lowrance and Hazel Linker Lowrance.
Gaile was a devoted member of Greenville First Presbyterian Church and was a deacon at St. Andrews Presbyterian Church while living in Newport Beach, CA from 1995 until 2005. After Mt Ulla High School, Mooresville, NC, she graduated from Appalachian State College with an Education degree. Then graduate degrees in Business Education from the University of North Carolina. She taught high school in Greensboro, NC and technical education at Davidson County Community College, NC. Worked for IBM Corporation in Greensboro, NC and Greenville, SC for 12 years. She also commuted to Converse College and graduated with an Interior Design degree. Gaile loved reading, learning and teaching.
She and Phil were married May 4,1968 and moved to Greenville. Gaile was a board member of Greenville National Bank, The Blood Connection, Junior League/Avon Futures Tennis Tournament. A member of Greenville Women Giving, Hessie Morrah and Dorothy Haynsworth Garden Clubs, The Greenville Beautification Committee, Poinsett Club Art Show Committee, The Tuesday Study Club, Upstate History Museum, Ollie at Furman, The Dinner Belles, Third Thursday Lunch Ladies, Greenville Center For Creative Arts, Metropolitan Arts Council and Nancy Caudel’s weekly Bible study at 1st Presbyterian.
Gaile was a loving, Christian lady, friend to all. She always had a kind word and lifted others up. You were the center of her attention. She loved traveling with the Greenville Museum Association and Davidson College friends. Christmas card pictures were from many destinations. She lived life to the fullest. And was a wonderful wife and family nurturer.
A Memorial will be held at 1:00 PM Friday, October 1st at First Presbyterian Church, 200 W. Washington St., Greenville, SC 29601, followed immediately by a visitation gathering at the Poinsett Club, 807 E.Washington St, Greenville, SC 29601.
