Born on August 28, 1929 in Sturgis, MS, he was the son of James Quitman and Gertrude Taylor Scribner. After graduating from Sturgis High School, Frank enlisted in the Air Force and proudly served from 1947 until he was honorably discharged in 1950. He made a career in the engineering field as a mechanical designer and project leader with J.E. Sirrine and construction manager for Simmons.
Frank found joy in the simple pleasures of life; he was an avid guitar player, playing in the bands Frank and Friends and The Music Makers. He and his band found joy in sharing music with other seniors in retirement homes and community centers all over the Upstate. He was also a Mason and a 32nd degree Shriner, working with them for many years to support the Shriners Hospital for Children. Frank loved to fish and especially enjoyed fishing with his kids and grandkids. He was an enthusiastic traveler, always up for exploring new places whenever he had the chance. He and his wife enjoyed many camping trips across the country.
Frank was predeceased by his beloved wife, Joyce Young Scribner. He leaves behind a loving family: his sons, Jeff Scribner (Susan) and Scott Scribner (Wina); his grandchildren, Jackie Weaver (Jeff) and Blake Scribner; and his great-grandchildren Lawson Weaver, Wyatt Scribner and Evie Weaver, all of whom will miss him deeply.
