Emily was the most beautiful person with a pure soul who had an idealistic view of the world that the world could not meet. She was an incredibly sweet, loving, and artistic person who had a passion for photography, baking, and ancestry research including the history of Greenville and her family’s historical roots in the area. Her family cannot express in words how much Emily will be missed.
Emily is survived by her husband, Jonathan “Jon” Stern; her parents, Sarah “Sally” Hatch Roberts and Carl Frederick Roberts, Jr.; her sister, Jennifer Hatch Roberts; her brother, Carl Frederick “Erick” Roberts, III; her niece, Morgan Conyers Fowler; her nephew, Austin Elliott Furman Fowler, Jr.; and her beloved Sophie.
Emily is predeceased by her maternal grandparents, Chester Elbert and Marie Westervelt Hatch.
A memorial service will be held in the Markley Chapel at Christ Church on Wednesday, July 25th at 2:00pm. A private committal will be held at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, memorials in honor of Emily may be made to the Greenville Humane Society at GreenvilleHumane.com.
