Dorothy Anderson Robelot, 97, of Rolling Green Village, passed away peacefully and gracefully, surrounded by family and caregivers, on December 26, 2014. She was born in her family home in Owings, S.C. on May 7, 1917 to George and Nita Anderson. She grew up in Greer and in Greenville, and graduated from Greenville High School. She then finished Furman University where she was President of her Senior Class and a charter member of the Senior Order. As a tribute to her beauty, male members of the senior class selected her as their choice for “the most beautiful co-ed”. After graduation she worked for Liberty Life Insurance Company, where she met the love of her life, Thomas Henry Robelot. They were married for 57 years before Tom’s passing on December 20, 1998. She is survived by her four children, Natalie Robelot Gibson and husband Gordon, Thomas Henry Robelot, Jr and wife Irmgard, Jane Robelot DeCarvalho and husband Mario, all of Greenville; Paul Robelot and wife Missy of France; 12 grandchildren, Hunter Gibson and wife Amy, Tyler Gibson and wife Kelly, Ryan Gibson, Nathan Robelot, Jean Paul Robelot, Thomas Robelot, Dorothee Robelot Walters and husband Charlie, Philippe Robelot, Nathalie Robelot Timtchenko and husband Ilya, Susie Robelot, Julie Robelot and George Robelot DeCarvalho; four great-grandchildren Grey and Bo Gibson, Reagan and Henry Gibson and a step- greatgranddaughter Gabriella DeCarvalho; two stepgranddaughters, Sara and Rita DeCarvalho, and two exchange students William Hainaux of France, and Margarita Salazar of Costa Rica, as well as many beloved nieces and nephews. Her beloved sister Jane Anderson Martin and husband Jack, and her brother George Anderson, Jr. and wife Jean mourn her passing. Dorothy was predeceased by her sisters Anita Anderson Folsom and Miriam Anderson Wood. The family is grateful for the loving care of her caregivers Carolyn Moon, Diane Conrad, Doris Acosta, Dorothy Doren and Kristen Collins. She was a gracious Southern lady, humble with strong principals, devoted to her family and to her Lord. A charter member of Trinity United Methodist Church, she was a member of the David Reese Sunday School Class. She was a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution, and the Colonial Dames of the 17th Century. As a voracious reader she was a member of the No Name Book Club. While Dorothy was an active volunteer in her church and her community, her primary devotion was to the love and care of her family. This is her legacy.
