Doris Farmer Gant died on May 7, 2018 at the age of 92. Doris was the daughter of the late Charles B. Farmer, Gate City, Virginia, and the late Louella Bellamy Bauer, LaPlace, Louisiana. She was preceded in death by her husband George Linck Gant, Jr. of Nashville, Tennessee, where he and Doris were longtime residents.
Doris is survived by a step-son William A. Gant (Marie) of Spencer, Indiana, brother Gerald H. Bauer (June) of Greenville, South Carolina, sister-in-law Caroline Gant Thompson of Pinson, Alabama, and numerous nieces, nephews, and friends. She was preceded in death by sisters Linda R. Farmer, Scott County, Virginia, and Lynne Bauer Thrower of LaPlace, Louisiana.
Doris attended the University of Pennsylvania and was a graduate of the Episcopal Hospital School of Nursing, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. She was also a graduate of the School of Anesthesia at Charity Hospital, New Orleans, Louisiana.
Doris was active in the Episcopal Church in Nashville, Tennessee, Abingdon, Virginia, and Greenville, South Carolina.
A memorial service will be held at Rolling Green Village on Sunday, May 27th at 3:30 in the afternoon.
