Charles James Moyer, known fondly as Duck to his grandchildren, 90, passed away on Friday, December 13, 2024, in Greenville, SC. Born on January 16, 1934, in Sharon, PA, he was the son of Ada Adams Moyer and Arden Leroy Moyer.
Charles was a graduate of Sharon High School, Class of 1951, and earned his degree in Business and Insurance from the University of Pittsburgh in 1957. A 32nd-degree Mason, he served in many capacities, including as Grand Master, and was deeply committed to his community. He was a 60-year member of First Presbyterian Church in Sharon and, more recently, a 13-year member of Advent Methodist Church in Simpsonville, SC.
Charles had a passion for sailing that was surpassed only by his love for his family. He is survived by his devoted wife of 69 years, Beverley (Ogg) Moyer; his daughter, Beth Wood (Arthur) of Landrum, SC; his son, Alec Moyer (Marcia) of Medina, OH, formerly of Sharon, PA; his sister, Louella Moyer Moore; six grandchildren, Abbey (Chris), Paul (Lauren), Elizabeth, Benjamin, Emma, and Stewart; and two great-grandchildren, Grayson and Alexander. He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Leroy Arden Moyer.

Charles will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
