Catherine Haynes Goodlett

Catherine Haynes Goodlett of Greenville. Born September 24, 1947, in Marion, NC to the late William and Evelyn McNeely, passed away Saturday, December 18, 2021, after a long and bravely fought battle with Alzheimer’s Disease.

She is survived by her husband William Ward Goodlett, Jr. of Simpsonville; and two sons: Todd Haynes (Suzanne) of Easley, SC and Marcus Haynes (Tonya) of Greer, SC; two step-children Teresa Strait (Will) of Greenville, SC and Will Goodlett (Gabrielle) of Greenville, SC; grand-children Madison Haynes of Easley, SC, Sidney Strait, Jude Strait and Gabrielle Goodlett all of Greenville, SC; and sister Judy McNeely Roland of Marion, NC.

Catherine was fiercely independent and easy to love. She had a larger than life, personality that brought love and happiness to all who knew her. She was active in many charities including Safe Harbor and Meals on Wheels. She expressed her creative and artistic abilities as a model for JB White department store where she enjoyed sharing her sense of style and love of fashion with others.

Professionally, her keen business mind and talent for financial strategy led her to a career as Controller for several prominent businesses in the Greenville area. She was co-owner and managing partner of Total Care Dentistry, where she served until her retirement.

Catherine had a presence that was unforgettable. She was fiercely protective of “her boys” and proud of the men they had become. Strikingly beautiful, and the life of the party, she loved generously and embraced the fun in life. Her laughter filled every room. Her sweet spirit will be forever missed, but her legacy of love and generosity will live on through all who knew her.

A memorial service for Catherine will be at 1:00 pm, Saturday, March 12th, 2022, at First Baptist Greenville, 847 Cleveland St, Greenville, SC 29601 followed by inurnment in the columbarium outside of the church.
