Carol was born in Sandy Springs, Georgia on June 3, 1942 to the late Fred Smith Morgan and Opal Hardeman Morgan. In addition to her parents, two husbands, Ellis Lester Thomas and Charles Royal Stephan, also predeceased her.
She is survived by daughter and son-in-law Meredith Thomas Fields and Brian Monroe Fields of Columbia, South Carolina; grandchildren Morgan Fields Flanagan (Shawn) of Charleston, South Carolina and Joshua Thomas Fields of Milwaukee, Wisconsin; and great-grandson Thomas Michael Flanagan of Charleston, South Carolina.
The family wishes to express their gratitude for all of the loving and caring people of Rolling Green Village who provided care and support to Carol throughout her years there.
A Memorial Service for Carol will take place on Saturday, January 20, 2024 at 1:00 pm at St. Peter Episcopal Church, 910 Hudson Road, Greenville, South Carolina. Memorial contributions in Carol’s name may be given to St. Peter Episcopal Church and mailed to P.O. Box 25817, Greenville, SC 29616.
