Born in 1938, Barry grew up in Western Tennessee. He graduated from the US Naval Academy in 1961 and later served in the US Navy during the Vietnam War. Barry and his family relocated to Greenville in 1980 where he worked for Fluor until retirement. He was member of First Presbyterian Church in Greenville. He was a loyal husband, father, grandfather and friend.
He is survived by his loving wife of 49 years, Peggy Wimberley; 2 daughters, Kendal Russell (Britton) and Austin Clay (Edward); 3 grandchildren, Kathryn, Wim and Kendal; 3 sisters; and 1 brother.
A memorial service will be held at 2pm Friday, November 11, 2016 in the Chapel of The Mackey Mortuary. The family will receive friends at the mortuary one hour prior to the service.
