Zane was born July 9, 1939, in Versailles to the late Daniel & Bessie (Tisor) Keller. He was also preceded in death by his father-in-law & mother-in-law, Paul & Betty Brumbaugh; brothers & sisters-in-law, Melvin & Helen Keller, Verl & Margaret Keller, Myron & Helen Keller, Richard & Astrid Keller, Raymond & Pauline Keller and Donald “Shorty” & June Keller; and sisters & brother-in-law, Shirley Schultz and Mary & Gene Oakes.
Zane is survived by his wife of 61 years, Connie (Brumbaugh) Keller whom he married January 12, 1963; son & daughter-in-law, Zane & Lori Keller of Ansonia; grandchildren, Zach & Megan Keller and Seth & Allie Keller; great grandchildren, Scarlett Keller, Hazel Keller, Iva Keller and Brooks Keller; special friend of the family, Nancy Miller; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Zane served in the U.S. Army. He retired from Hobart Bros. in Troy with over 30 years of service. Zane was a member of Oakland Church of the Brethren and the Ansonia American Legion. Zane and his wife Connie were former members of the Ansonia Swinging 8’s Square Dance Club. Zane was an avid fan of any kind of sport, but especially of The Ohio State Buckeyes, Cincinnati Reds and the Ansonia Tigers. He was a member of the football “chain gang” for 40 plus years.
A funeral service will be held at 10:30 am Saturday, December 7, 2024, at Zechar Bailey Funeral Home in Greenville with Pastor Bob Bitner officiating. Burial will follow in Beamsville Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Friday from 5:00 to 7:00 pm and Saturday morning from 9:30 to 10:30 am at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to EverHeart Hospice in Greenville, Oakland Church of the Brethren Youth Fund or Ansonia Athletic Department Fund.
