Ila Mae (Thompson) Jackson, 77 of Greenville, Ohio and formerly of Layton Utah, passed away on Sunday October 20, 2024 at 12:15 AM at EverHeart Hospice Care Center, Greenville, Ohio. Ila Mae was born November 21, 1946 in Bennettsville, South Carolina, the daughter of the late Lenerue and Essie Rowena (Rouse) Thompson.
Ila Mae was a homemaker and a member of Christian Life Center, Layton, Utah and First Assembly of God in Greenville.
Ila Mae is preceded in death by her parents; her sister, Janie Todd; her brothers, Harry Thompson, Thurl Thompson, Larry Thompson; brothers in law, Bob Todd and, Jim Jackson; and her nieces, Ramona Todd, and Tammy Thompson.
Ila Mae is survived by her husband, Billy Jackson of Greenville whom she married June 5, 1966 in Myrtle Beach South Carolina; her children and their spouses, Gwendolyn and Tony Hembrock of Marion, Indiana, Timothy Jackson of Layton, Utah and Nanette Jenkins of So. Ogden, Utah, and Stephanie and Jason Bang of Bradford, Ohio; her grandchildren and their spouses, Brooke and Calvin Williams, Shannon and Andrew Chanthalyxay, Emily and Ransom Dean, Grayson and Taylor Jackson, Danielle Hembrock, Tommy Hembrock, Adalynn Bang, and Macy Bang; 9 great grandchildren; her siblings and their spouses, Lillian and Philip Hucks, Linda Diane and Jack Collins, Henry and Pam Thompson, and Sarah Jackson; and many nieces and nephews, and several “unofficially adopted” children.
Services will be held on Tuesday October 22, 2024 at 2:30 PM at First Assembly of God 7219 State Route 118, Greenville, Ohio with Pastor Myke Crowder and Pastor Dale Boeger officiating. Burial will follow in Gettysburg Cemetery, Gettysburg, Ohio. The family will receive friends from 1:00 PM until 2:30 PM on Tuesday at the church. Arrangements have been entrusted to Zechar Bailey Funeral Home, Greenville, Ohio. Memorial contributions may be made to EverHeart Hospice or to the donor’s local church in her name.
