Doris was born August 29, 1930, in Greenville to the late Jacob & Mary (Black) Cissner. Doris was also preceded in death by her 1st husband, Rodney Lorton; 2nd husband, Marvin Holdeman; and sisters, Margaret Brown and Betty Minnich.
Doris is survived by her children, Larry & Cyndi Lorton and Ruth Ann & Dennis Riffle; step children, Renee Barnett, Kim Sturgill, Kelly & Kelli Holdeman and Jill & Chris Caup; granddaughter, Holly & Ray Wilk; great granddaughter, Vera Wilk; numerous step grandchildren, step great grandchildren and great great grandchildren; sister & brother-in-law, Marabelle & John Garland; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Doris was a homemaker, cake decorator at Eikenberry’s IGA in Greenville for 11 years and was a substitute teacher at Ansonia Schools for 4 years. She was a member of Teegarden Congregational Christian Church and Ansonia Band Boosters where she served as president.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00 am Monday, November 18, 2024, at Zechar Bailey Funeral Home in Greenville with Pastor Eric Knight officiating. Burial will follow in Greenville Township Memorial Garden. The family will receive friends Monday from 9:00 to 11:00 am at the funeral home.
