Donald William Downey

Donald was born December 23, 1942, in Celina to the late Edward John Downey and Hazel Louise (Boroff) Hanson.

Donald is survived by his children, Lynell & Josh Thobe of Arcanum, Billy Downey & significant other, Brooke Willoughby of Piqua, Sierra & Earl Cordule of Alabama and Carl & Carol Downey of Virginia; grandchildren, Aragorn Downey, Selena Downey, Sydney Cordule, Brittani Cordule, Laura Downey & Ashley Downey; 2 great grandchildren; and brother, Robert Thomas of Yakima, Washington.

Donald served in the US Army. He was a former professional wrestler and truck driver. Donald was a member of the First Assembly of God Church in Greenville, Christian Motorcycle Association where he became an ordained minister, Rolling Thunder Chapter 5 Motorcycle Club, and the Cherokee Nation. Donald was an Ohio Hunters Education Instructor for over 25 years.

A celebration of Donald's life will be held at 4:00 pm Thursday, July 7, 2022, at Zechar Bailey Funeral Home in Greenville with Earl Wagner officiating. The family will receive friends from 3:00 to 4:00 pm on Thursday at the funeral home. Burial will take place in the Dayton National Cemetery on Friday, July 8, 2022, at 9:00 am with full military honors.
