Barbara C. Sweeney

August 29, 1947 ~ December 22, 2021 (age 74)

Barbara C. Sweeney, 74, of Greenville passed away unexpectedly at 5:00 p.m. Wednesday, December 22, 2021. She was born August 29, 1947 in Piqua to the late Everett C. and Betty June McGlaughlin.

Survivors include two children, Tracey (J.R.) Herron of Clayton, Ohio, and Mark (Kristin) Herron of Piqua, Ohio, two grandchildren; and two siblings, Dorothy “Dot” (Mike) Swabb of Murrell’s Inlet, SC and Doug (Diane) McGlaughlin of Minster; also many other nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Kathy Warboys and brother, Jack McGlaughlin.

Barb was a graduate of Northeastern High School Springfield Class of 1965. She had worked for the Greenville City Elementary Schools as the librarian and retired from the Greenville Public Library; she also dedicated her time and worked as a volunteered at Wayne Hospital for 8 years. Barb loved reading books, trivia, and movies. She enjoyed spending time with her cat Munki, and her family especially her granddaughter, Taylor Herron and her “Wingman” Jeremy Miranda. She will surely be missed.
