Paul R. Perkins

Paul R. Perkins, 83, of Greensburg passed away on July 9, 2024. He was born on March 28, 1941 in Tina, Kentucky, the son of Troy and Cora Shepherd Perkins. Paul was a 1959 graduate of Clarksburg High School. He served in the United States Navy and while in the service, he was selected to be on the Funeral Honor Guard for President John F. Kennedy. On December 29, 1971 he married Betty Carol Bryant. Over the years, Paul worked for Muncie Bread for 23 years and Valeo. After retiring, he mowed municipal properties for the City of Greensburg. He was a member of the New Point Christian Church and enjoyed fishing. It is impossible to sum up Paul in a small paragraph but his beautiful smile and kind heart will be missed by all that loved him. Survivors include: wife, Carol Perkins; children, Angela (Mark) Metzger, Rick Perkins and Teresa (Bill) Nall; 8 grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren; and brother, Dale Perkins. He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Virgil Perkins, Orville “O.D.” Perkins, Denver Perkins, Donald Perkins and Darrell Perkins; and sister, Darlene Perkins. A visitation for family and friends will be held on Monday, July 15, 2024 at the Gilliland-Howe Funeral Home from 11:00 am until the time of the funeral at 1:00 pm. Dennis Spears will be officiating.
