Donald Jay Wells, 77, of Shelbyville, passed away peacefully with his niece and nephew by his side, on January 5, 2021. He was born on August 10, 1943 in Evansville the son of Irvin and Geneva (Sharp) Wells. Donald was a 1962 graduate of St. Paul High School. He worked and retired from Cummins in Columbus, Indiana.
He was a proud member of the National Guard and was a lifetime member of the NRA and NMLRA. He was a skilled woodworker and machinist. He was also the owner of Wells Manufacturing.
Donny will always be remembered as a great friend to all that knew him. He was known to play practical jokes on friends and family and always kept them on their toes and laughing.
Survivors include: Twin Brother, Ronald Ray Wells of Greensburg; Nephew, Dennis (Lisa) Wells of Greensburg; Niece, Jennifer (Chad) Ford of Georgetown, Texas; Great Nephew, Lane Wells; Great Nieces, Aubrey Ford, Remington Ford, and Savannah Keifer. He was preceded in death by his Parents and Aunt and Uncle Doloris and Sig Kofoid.
A celebration of life for both Ronnie and Donnie Wells will be held on Wednesday, September 6, 2023 at 4:00 pm and visitation will follow until 7:00 pm. Memorial Contributions can be made to the charity of your choice. Online condolences can be made to the family at www.gilliland-howe.com.
