She is survived by her brother, Harold Swaney of Potomac, MD, and her sister Joanne Swaney Smith, of Greensboro, NC, and her daughter, Kaye Andrews Wilkins Tutterow, of Greensboro, NC, and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Ruth was preceded in death by her parents, Bessie Black Swaney and Jesse Edgar Swaney, her husband, Marshall Clay Andrews, and two sisters, Dixie Swaney Turner and Dorothy Swaney Ryel.
Ruth enjoyed trips to the coast with her husband, who was an avid fisherman, and she was always happy spending time with and helping take care of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She loved her church, never missing a Sunday service until her health prevented her going, and she enjoyed her flower garden.
At the time of death, she was residing at Blumenthal Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. The family wishes to thank the nurses and staff of Blumenthal for their dedicated care and kindness toward Ruth.
A funeral service will be held on Sunday, January 26, 2:00 p.m. at Buffalo Presbyterian Church located at 803 16thStreet, Greensboro, 27405. The family invites those gathered to a reception following the service.
