Rodger Farrington was born on August 2nd, 1956 to the late Ernest and Frances Farrington in Greensboro, NC. He passed away quietly in his home on May 16th, 2021. Rodger had been valiantly fighting his illness for the past 2 years.
Rodger attended Grimsley High School in Greensboro, NC. Growing up, Rodger was an avid sportsman, to include wrestling…a passion he passed on to his nephews, grand nephews and nieces. Rodger’s craft was painting. He often shared his excellence in trade with a focus on being the best and delivering his services with a smile.
Rodger’s supercharged sense of humor has left a lasting impact on friends and family alike. As everyone’s favorite uncle, he shared the funniest family stories. Throughout his life, Rodger was always focused on the wellbeing of the youngest children in the family, and his pride in their accomplishments was always evident in how he bragged on his loved ones. His presence helped create family memories that will last a lifetime. He reminded us all that nothing was more important than family taking the time to laugh with one another.
Rodger was a loving son, brother, uncle, and friend. Rodger will be dearly missed by his loved ones.
Rodger is preceded in death by his parents Ernest and Frances Farrington; sisters Willa Faye McCray and Kay Farrington Little; brothers Ernest Farrington and Donnie Farrington; and nephews Kenneth Hayes and Ronald McCray.
Rodger is survived by his aunt Bessie Washington, sisters Emma Jean Hayes and Betty Jo Williams; a host of nephews and special nephew Roderick Little, nieces and cousins; and close friend Tony Thompson.
