Robert Alois Kohser, 84, passed away Tuesday, December 3, 2024 surrounded by his children. Born January 20, 1940, in New York New York, he was the son of the late Walter and Juliane Kohser. He lived in West Islip, NY for 48 years before relocating to Greensboro, NC.
Robert received his degree in Electrical Engineering from The City College of New York. He worked a few years for Gibson Cox before beginning his long career at Northrop Grumman Corporation, where he met his wife, Nancy, and from where he retired. He was a faithful member of Ascension Lutheran Church in Deer Park, NY for many years and loved the many friendships he formed there. An avid lover of trains, he spent much time traveling and taking in scenic views from various railways. His dry sense of humor, quick wit and gift for taking care of everyone around him left an impression on many people’s hearts.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Nancy and his sister, Marie Theresa Adamson. He is survived by his children, Christopher Kohser and wife, Lindsey, Deborah Clodfelter and husband, Justin, Erika Kosin and husband, Jeremy; grandchildren, Michael, Samuel, Juliane, Adam, Matthew and Ryan; dear friend, Helga Jadatz; nephew, Scott and wife, Susie and their children, Benjamin and Noah; niece, Cynthia and her son, Jonathan and brother-in-law, Ralph Adamson.
There will be a gathering Sunday, December 8 from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m., at Hanes Lineberry North Elm Chapel, 515 North Elm Street, Greensboro.
Memorial Service will be held Saturday, December 14 at 10:00 a.m., at Ascension Lutheran Church, 33 Bayshore Rd., Deer Park, NY. 11729.
