Patricia Carolyn Wilkie Veal of Greensboro, NC passed away Friday, February 4th, 2022 surrounded by family and friends. Patricia was born in Chatham County, NC to Bernice Athlan Wilkie and Mary Clyde Truelove and sister to Gene Wilkie.
Patricia’s first career was with the State of NC Vocational Rehabilitation and after 30 years she retired. She then pursued a career with the Greensboro Coliseum as an event coordinator. We lost one special lady. She was a friend to all and not a stranger to anyone. She would say she was a second mother to many of her friends. She enjoyed life, dancing, travelling with friends, fashion, country music, and most of all her family. She loved so many in this world and had many true and lasting relationships. If you knew her you were better for it whether it was her laugh, her listening to you or giving motherly advice, which many have had the pleasure of hearing. She was always up for a party and would be the one who was either dancing or taking pictures. We would often say why do we need so many pictures and she would say you will appreciate them someday. She was certainly right. We love you Patricia, Pat or Trisha, depending on when you became friends. We will miss your kind spirit, passion, laugh and giving personality. Until we meet again keep dancing with the angels.
Visitation for Patricia will be held Friday, February 11, 2022 from 9:30-10:45 am at Hanes-Lineberry Funeral Services, 515 North Elm Street, Greensboro, NC. The service will follow at 11:00 am. The graveside service will be Saturday, February 12, 2022 at 11:00 AM at Bells Chapel Church Cemetery, Apex, NC.
She is survived by her son, Hudson Veal and his family, Katherine Rector, their son, Bryson Hudson Veal, as well as her extended family and an abundance of friends. Online condolences may be offered at www.haneslineberyfhnorthelm.com.
