Mrs. Nancy Jane Simpson Rumple, 77, a resident of Greensboro died Sunday September 26, 2010 at Moses H. Cone Hospital. Mrs. Rumple was born October 30, 1932 in Yanceyville, a daughter of Spencer Thomas and Mary Belle Moore Simpson. She was retired from Fireman’s Fund and Ohio Causality Insurance Companies. She was a member of True Vine Community Church. She was a beloved wife and mother, dedicated to her family and her faith in God.
Mrs. Rumple was preceded in death by her parents; one sister, Mary Francis Simpson Blaylock and two brothers, John Wilson Simpson and Thomas Meador Simpson.
On July 10, 1955 she was married to Joseph Donald Rumple, Sr. who survives of the home. Surviving in addition to her husband are three sons, Joseph Donald “Don” Rumple, Jr. and wife Jennifer of High Point, Randall Alan Rumple and wife Rhonda of Whitsett, Ronald “Ronnie” Dale Rumple and wife April of Greensboro; one sister, Betty Simpson Burris and husband Frank of Pleasant Garden, two brothers, James Harrison Simpson and wife Fran of Greensboro, S. Frank Simpson and wife Claire of Atlanta, GA and three grandchildren, Elizabeth Richardson, Landon Rumple and Cheyenne Zimmerman.
Funeral services will be held Thursday at 1:00 p.m. in the Hanes-Lineberry Funeral Home Sedgefield Chapel, 6000 High Point Road, Greensboro, NC 27407conducted by the Reverend Dr. Adrian Harris. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday from 11:30 a.m. until service time.
In lieu of flowers memorials are requested to be directed to Hospice and Palliative Care of Greensboro, 2500 Summit Ave., Greensboro, NC 27405.
