Michael was born January 29, 1948 in Dorchester, MA, the son of Robert and Marie Kelley Taylor.
Michael was an underwriter for the Marine Insurance Company while working with Royal Insurance in Charlotte, eventually becoming Vice President. Michael and his wife Yvonne owned Franklin’s Printing Company in Charlotte for several years, eventually selling that business to work at Harris Teeter part-time. Working part-time allowed him to enjoy golfing at the Raintree Country Club in Charlotte most days of the week. Michael was a voracious reader, who loved the feel of a book in his hands, preferring this to TV shows and movies. Michael was also an avid Patriots fan, rarely missing a game on TV and having numerous personal belongings decorated with their emblem. He had a love of food, trying many different restaurants, and thought of himself as a coffee connoisseur. Michael loved to smile and laugh, with his charming and charismatic nature along with his dry wit and mischievous sense of humor. He truly loved to make others happy and always tried to make those around him laugh and smile along with him. He was an affectionate and loving husband, father, father-in-law, and brother. He will be missed dearly.
Those left to cherish his memory include his wife Yvonne Heard Taylor; daughter, Casey Taylor and husband Austin Craven of Greensboro, son, Anthony Paul Willard of Pompano, FL; sisters, Susan Graham and husband Steve Larcen of Niantic, CT, Linda Keefe and husband Larry of Braintree, MA; brother, Kenny Taylor and wife Cathy of Braintree, MA.
The family asks with gratitude that memorial’s in Michael’s name be made to the Esophageal Cancer Action Network, P.O. Box 243, Stevenson, MD 21153. There is no memorial planned at this time, but the Taylor family will release this information as the situation changes.
