Mary was born in Johnson City, TN on July 18, 1945 to the late Emma Marie Miller and Eugene Thomas O’Dell, Sr.
Mary Graduated from Vanderbilt University and worked many years with Lucas Travel Agency.
A longtime member of Westminster Presbyterian Church where she was active in the Flower and Amani Bead Ministries. As a member of the Flower Ministry, she enjoyed working with flowers and visiting with those who received them. Through Amani Bead Ministry, she made jewelry that was used to raise funds for an orphanage in Kenya.
Mary carried on a family legacy left by her mother, Aunt Georgia Martin Drake, and cousins through the PEO which is a ministry of women helping women reach for the stars at Cottey College.
Mary is survived by her brother Eugene Thomas O’Dell, Jr, of Greensboro and three nephews Seth Thomas O’Dell (Katheryn) of Columbia, SC; Adam Patrick O’Dell of Los Angeles, CA; Matthew Stephen O’Dell (Jessie) of Greensboro, NC. One great niece, Nora Rebecca O’Dell.
The family would like to express their appreciation to the staff and doctors at Beacon Place for their superb care during Mary’s brief stay.

A celebration of Mary’s life will take place at Westminster Presbyterian Church on Friday, September 15, 2023 at 2pm.
