Marie Edwards

Marie Williams Edwards, 98, a resident of Greensboro passed away on Friday November 11, 2022. She was born on February 12, 1924 in Guilford County, the daughter of Rezzie and Maggie Heilig Williams.

Marie graduated from Bessemer High School and Kings Business College. She retired from Burlington Industries. Marie was a member of New Bessemer Baptist Church.

She was married to Joseph Linwood “Lin” Edwards who preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by her son, Dean Edwards; her sisters, Lucille Hatley, Marion Young, Wilma Brady, Clara Brown; her brother, Jimmy Williams; niece, Becky Hansley and nephews, Gary Young and Larry Hatley.

Marie is survived by her daughter-in-law, Lori Edwards and her granddaughter, Caitlyn.

Funeral services will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday November 19, 2022 at the Hanes-Lineberry Funeral Home Sedgefield Chapel. Interment will follow in Guilford Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Saturday from 11:00 a.m. until service time.
