Lynette Marie Thielman McCoy passed away unexpectedly on July 24, 2018 at her home in Greensboro, NC at the age of 57. A Celebration of Life that will begin with a brief service is to be held on Monday, July 30th at 5 PM at the Elk’s Lodge #602, 2201 W. Cornwallis Drive in Greensboro. The celebration will continue until 8 PM.
Lynette was born in Stearns County, MN to the late John and Audrey Gill Thielman. She grew up in Avon, MN and graduated from Albany High School in 1978. She moved to Greensboro in 1988 where she made countless meaningful friendships. Pelican Lake in Minnesota held a special place in her heart and throughout her life Lynette loved spending time there with her family and friends every chance she got.
Lynette loved to help others and would go above and beyond to provide support, regardless of the need. She had a kind, gentle and fun-loving spirit with a beautiful smile and was happiest in the company of her family and close friends. Lynette loved to dance, especially to live music. The room always came alive when she entered. She was loved dearly by her children Rachel and Ryan. She was a friend to all she met and was like a mother to the many children that crossed her path.
In addition to being an amazing mom to Rachel McCoy of Wilmington, NC and Ryan McCoy of Greensboro, NC, she was a devoted sister to Michelle “Mickey” Shay, John Thielman (Cathy) and Craig Theilman all of Avon, MN and Steve Thielman (Jane) of Fargo, ND; and caring aunt to Brennan and Zoe Shay, Crystal and Thomas Andersen, Michelle Blokzyl, and John, Benjamin and Nathan Thielman. Lynette is also survived by a large extended family, a group of dear friends, her children’s father, Kevin McCoy, and her precious canine buddy, Max. In addition to her parents, Lynette was preceded in death by a brother, Joseph Thielman.
A second service to celebrate Lynette’s life will be August 4, 2018, in Avon, MN. The visitation will be at 10 AM, followed by an 11 AM Mass at the Church of St. Benedict, officiated by Reverend Gregg Miller. Inurnment will be in St. Benedict Parish Cemetery.
