Lori Elizabeth Dixon Kennedy passed away unexpectedly on August 14, 2021 due to complications related to COVID. Her life will be celebrated at 1 PM, Friday, August 20, 2021 at Dayspring Church in Greensboro followed by interment at Lakeview Memorial Park. The family will receive friends prior to the service at the church from 11 AM to 1 PM.
Lori was affectionately known as Dinkey by family and friends and will be remembered for her great sense of humor, take charge personality and out going spirit. She was born in Greensboro to the late James Dixon and Eva Barham Dixon who survives and for whom she has been caregiver for almost 40 years. She was employed by Carlyle Jewelers for twenty five years. More than anything Lori will be remembered for her love of her savior, Jesus Christ. She was a faithful member of Dayspring Church, of which her father was a founding member, where she served as deaconess, secretary/treasurer, and member of the praise team among many other positions. Her belief in Jesus was the cornerstone of her life.
In 1984 she met the love of her life, Richard Kennedy Jr. He survives her along with their son, Steven of Greensboro; sisters, Gay Crouse of Gibsonville and Tami (William) Smith of Randleman; nieces and nephews, Ken (Sandy) Crouse Jr., Allen Crouse, Heather Smith, Scott Smith and Brittany Smith; great nieces and nephews, Jonah Crouse, Rosy Crouse, Ryan Jarrett, Cory Tanner and Tyler Tanner; and a large extended family. In addition to her father, she is preceded in death by a brother-in-law, Ken Crouse.

In keeping with Dinkey’s laid back and free spirit the family asks that guests “come as you are” and formal dress is not expected however masks and social distancing are requested.
