

Lori Claire Funderburg Perkins passed away on Wednesday, March 15th and is now resting peacefully in Heaven with her Savior. Lori was born on January 25, 1958, the youngest of five children. She was a devoted daughter, a loving sister and a caring aunt.
Lori was a talented gardener who took pride in her yard and all that bloomed in it. She was an avid birdwatcher and loved everything about nature, especially the mountains, from Alaska to North Carolina.
In addition, Lori was a dedicated worker and loved meeting and being around people. She had many friends throughout her lifetime. She had a wonderful sense of humor and loved playing Scrabble and other word games.
An important part of Lori’s life was music. She had a large catalog of different genres of music and was always listening to something. Lori had several pets during her time on earth, mostly dogs and cats and they all held a special place in her heart. Lori considered her pets to be her family and friends.
Her beloved sister Rebecca Bass, her stepfather Duane Williams, her sister-in-law Diane Perkins Edwards and MaryAnn Perkins, preceded Lori in death.
Left to cherish her memory are Lori’s mother Margaret Williams, her brother Steve Funderburg and his wife Lauren, her sisters Karen Kay and her husband Bill and Roxanne Ghahramani and her husband Fereidoon.
Lori also leaves behind her nephews Chris Funderburg, his wife Jessica and daughter Elliot, Joel Funderburg, his wife Nozomi and daughters Mei and Kai, Kevin Funderburg, his wife Michelle and son Jude, Gabriel Higgins, Zack Ghahramani and Eli Ghahramani. Stepsisters Georgia Felthoelter and her husband Randy, Kimberly Jones and her husband Jim, cousin Joan Marley and her husband Bruce, along with several other cousins and their families are also Lori’s survivors.
Other loved ones left behind include George Perkins, his father George Sr. who Lori thought of as a father, his sisters Jacqueline Perkins, Janet Perkins Durham and Theresa Denise Martin, their extended families and numerous friends.
All who knew Lori will miss her. A private service will be held at a later time.
