Linda Nauman Sirmons, age 72, passed away suddenly at home on August 9, 2024. Linda graduated from Brandywine High School in 1970 and went on to obtain a degree in Theatre Arts from High Point College in 1974 and completed a Master’s Degree in acting and directing at the University North Carolina at Greensboro. UNCG is where she met her husband of 45 years, Ben Sirmons. After graduate school, they continued to live in Greensboro and raise their family, but enjoyed summer vacations in Rehoboth Beach, Delaware.
She was active in community organizations in the Greensboro area, including the Florence Elementary PTA (past president), the Children’s Home Society of North Carolina and Ridgefield Academy/New Garden Friends School. She was a gifted writer and avid reader and enjoyed gardening and going to the beach; but most of all spending time with her family near and far.
Linda was the devoted wife of Ben Hill Sirmons, Jr. and loving mother of Samuel Nauman Sirmons (Hailey) and Jackson Peck Sirmons (Alexis). She was adored by and an active caregiver to her 4 grandchildren, Abigail Leigh Sirmons, Nora Hailey Sirmons, Trenton Grant Sirmons, and Lily Violet Sirmons.
She was preceded in death by her parents, George and Marjorie Nauman. Survived by her sisters Lisa Zebrowski (Mitchell), Leslie Jessup (Richard), Leigh Sibert (David) and her many nieces and nephews, cousins and faithful friends.
Services will be held at the New Garden Friends Meeting (Guilford College Road) in Greensboro on Saturday 8/24/24 at 2:00pm. In lieu of flowers, donation may be made, in Linda’s name, to the Children’s Home Society of North Carolina (htts://chsnc.org).
