Lawrence Dodson Meade

Lawrence Dodson Meade, 66, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his family on January 14, 2021. Larry was born on October 1, 1954 to John and Louise Meade and raised in Delray Beach, Florida.

Larry became a successful figure in the packaging world, which he was proud to welcome his son into two years ago. He began his career in the 80s at Zellerbach in South Florida until he transitioned to North Carolina in 1990, where he worked for John Edwards Company for thirty years.

Without a doubt, Larry’s favorite job was that of Dad and later in life, he took on the role of Pop to his grandson Wade, whom he adored and had a special relationship. Larry will always be remembered for his sense of humor and candid storytelling, which he made sure to carry with him until his final days.

He is survived by his wife, Elizabeth; son, Larry Jr of Greensboro, daughter, Ashley Meade Pridmore and husband Curtis; grandson, Wade of Caledonia, MI; brothers, Curtis (Michelle) Meade of Boynton Bch, FL and John (Cathy) Meade of Boca Raton, FL; sister-in-law Grace (Mark) Mulroy of Alexander City, AL; three nieces and one nephew. He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Louise Meade.
