Kyle Willard Drake

Funeral service will be held on Thursday, November 10, 2016 at 1:00 pm at Mount Pleasant United Methodist Church, 4400 Alamance Church Road with Dr. Barry Lemons officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. Family visitation will be Wednesday, November 9, 2016 from 6:00- 8:00 pm in the church sanctuary.

He was born in Rocky Mount, NC to John and Maggie Drake. He was a seventh grader at Southern Alamance Middle School, and played football and basketball. He loved camping and the outdoors. He was a member of Mount Pleasant United Methodist Church. With a great sense of humor and a heart of gold, Kyle brightened every room he walked into. He touched many lives, young and old during his thirteen years; he will be greatly missed.

He was preceded in death by his grandfather Jerry Powell. Kyle is survived by his parents, John and Margaret Drake; brother, Lewis Drake and sister, Kasey Drake of the home; grandparents, Robert and Ann Drake of Liberty; and Debbie Powell of Rocky Mount; great grandparents, Ed and Jane Powell of Rocky Mount; aunts, Erica (Josh) Thompson of Bailey, NC, and Jennifer (Chason) Ricks of Red Oak, NC; uncle, Bobby (Tracy) Drake of Graham.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to UNC-Chapel Hill Children’s Hospital 101 Manning Drive Chapel Hill North Carolina, 27514 in memory of Kyle Willard Drake.
