Mrs. Kathy Glenn, 73, passed away Friday, November 4, 2016 at her home in Atlanta. A graveside service was held Saturday, November 12, 2016 at Glenn’s Chapel Cemetery in Stoneville, NC, where she was laid to rest next to her husband, Locke Erwin Glenn, of Winston-Salem.
Kathy was born September 1, 1943, in Waukegan, IL, the second daughter of Harold and Elizabeth Keeton. Harold was stationed at the Naval Station Great Lakes, while serving in the Navy. Harold retired after World War II and the family moved to Miami, FL where Kathy spent the rest of her childhood.
Kathy graduated from high school at age 16 and then matriculated at Spring Hill College, in Mobile, AL. She graduated in 1964, earning a Bachelor of Science degree in Sociology. After graduation, she moved to Atlanta, GA to work. There she met her husband, Locke Erwin Glenn, and they were married in 1967 at the Chapel in Callaway Gardens.
The couple lived in Brookhaven and Kathy was a devoted wife and mother for many years. During those years, she served on the board of the Rabun Gap-Nacoochee Club to support the educational needs of that school in Rabun County, GA, where Locke developed the Eagle Chase community. In addition to her parents, Kathy was preceded in death by her husband Locke Erwin Glenn and her sister Juanita Keeton.
Those left to cherish her memory include her two sons, James Christopher Glenn and wife Lisa of Raleigh and Locke Allen Glenn and wife Jennifer of Stillwater, OK; five grandchildren, Keeton Ward Glenn, Mary McKenzie Glenn, Jack Robert Glenn, Samuel Garrison Glenn and Bess Margaret Glenn.
