A memorial service will be held at First Presbyterian Church Mullin Life Center, 709 N. Greene St., with Reverend Dolly Jacobs officiating. The family will visit with friends in the Life Center following the service.
Katherine was born in Greensboro on March 17, 1933 to the late Mark Freeman Foster and Katherine Lee Vanstory.
Those left to cherish her memory include daughters, Katherine Fentress Permar of Greenboro and Julia Fentress McClurg of Lynchburg, Virginia; grandchildren, Stephen Alan Baker of Portland, Oregon and his wife Melissa, Katherine Lee McClurg and Logan Marie McClurg; and brother, Mark Foster and his wife Carol of South Boston, Virginia.
She was preceded in death by her husband Baxter Lee Fentress. He was a devoted husband and they shared 51 years of memories, friends and love.
Katherine was a lifetime member of First Presbyterian Church where she served as President of the Women of the Church, Deacon and Elder. She also served as a part of First Friend Ministry and had a deep love of God. She was also a member of PEO, Chapter J of Greensboro.
All who knew Katherine, knew her sharp wit and keen sense of humor. She loved to laugh and had a compassionate heart. She will be greatly missed.
