The family will receive loved ones and those whose lives Kandie touched on Monday between 6:30 and 8 p.m., at Pleasant Garden Baptist Church in the Family Life Center, 1415 Neelley Rd., Pleasant Garden.
The service will be held Tuesday, 2:00 p.m., at Lakeview Memorial Park Mausoleum Chapel by Rev. Michael Barrett of Pleasant Garden Baptist Church and Rev. Mark Cranford of New Life Baptist Church.
Kandie was born September 18, 1960 in Greensboro, the daughter of the late Norma Ezekiel Marshall and Barbara Jean Evans Marshall.
Kandie was a graduate of Northwest High School and the Cone Radiography Program. She was employed with Moses Cone Hospital as a Radiologic Technologist and later at Alamance Hospital as a CT Technologist. Kandie attended Pleasant Garden Baptist Church and was a quiet, private person who enjoyed reading, spending time at the beach, and crocheting. Most of all, Kandie enjoyed spending quality time with her family and adoring her precious grandson, Harper McDaniel.
In addition to her father, Kandie was preceded in death by her brother, Eddie Marshall.
Those left to cherish her memory are her husband, Hal Hatfield; children, Brent Hatfield, Kaylee McDaniel (husband, Josh and son, Harper), and Krista Hatfield; mother, Barbara Marshall; and sister, Tonie Rash (husband, Robert).
The family would like to personally thank Dr. Magrinat, Dr. Manning, as well as the entire staff of the Wesley Long Cancer Center for their continuous support, compassion, and top-notch care throughout this long journey.
The family asks with gratitude that in lieu of flowers, memorials in Kandie’s name be made to Kids Path, 2504 Summit Ave., Greensboro, NC 27405 or to Pleasant Garden Baptist Church Scholarship Fund for those pursuing a career in the medical field, 1415 Neelley Rd., Pleasant Garden, NC 27313.
