Judy Josey Hendrick, 73, passed away on Monday, October 7, 2024, at Wesley Long Hospital. A cherished wife, mother, grandmother, and friend, Judy was known for her warmth and genuine care for others. Always staying connected with family and friends, she had a remarkable ability to keep up with everyone's lives, demonstrating her deep compassion and love for those around her. Her steady Christian faith was the cornerstone of her life, guiding her actions.
She and her husband Tom were passionate supporters of Auburn University, particularly its engineering department. Judy kept his Auburn spirit alive through continued commitment and support, ensuring the legacy of their dedication lived on.
Judy's compassion reached beyond her family and friends extending to her role as a substitute teacher of young children at Greensboro Day School. Her kindness and commitment to education left a lasting impact on both students and teachers.
She graduated from McEvoy High School, and the University of South Alabama with both an undergraduate degree and a masters in education.
Judy is survived by four sons Kevin Bryant and wife Marie of Macon, GA, Todd Bryant and wife Katy of Acworth, GA, Michael Hendrick and wife Chrysty of Issaquah, WA, and Russell Hendrick and wife Laura of Pike Road, AL; and five grandchildren Harrison, Mikaela, Jakub, Caleb, and Quinlan.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, October 19, 2024, at Friendly Ave Church of Christ. Entombment will follow in the Mausoleum at Westminster Gardens. The family will receive friends from 4:00 to 6:00 pm on Friday, October 18 at Hanes Lineberry North Elm Chapel.
Her loving spirit and dedication to her family, friends, students, Auburn University, and her faith will be deeply missed and fondly remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
