Funeral services will be held on Monday, September 10, 2018 at 2:00 pm at Peace United Church of Christ. Burial will follow at Greenhill Cemetery in Greensboro. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service from 1:00 until 2:00 pm at the church.
Born in Greensboro, Dorn graduated from Smith High School and worked as a self-employed Mechanic. He was a life-long member of Peace United Church of Christ where he was an active member of the men’s fellowship. In Dorn’s younger days, he was a member of the Boy Scout Troop #160, worked a paper route for the Greensboro News and Record, and drove a school bus. He was what he considered himself to be an Urban Gardener and sold the fruits of his labor at a local Farmer’s Market by Stixs & Stones off Elam Ave. He was loved by many and will be missed by all who knew him. He was preceded in death by his father, John Frank Yeattes, Jr.
Those left to cherish his memory include his mother, Doris Jones Yeattes of Greenboro; brother, Jeff Yeattes and his wife Karen of Greensboro; sister, Annette Yeattes Green and her husband James of Rural Hall; several cousins and other extended family.
