James "Richard" Grubb

Funeral services will be held at 3:30 p.m. on Saturday, November 23, 2024, at Hanes-Lineberry Sedgefield Chapel, 6000 West Gate City Blvd., in Greensboro. Burial will immediately follow in Guilford Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends and loved ones prior to the funeral from 2:00 until 3:30 p.m. at the funeral home.

Richard attended Pheifer College on a Baseball Scholarship until he was drafted into the United States Army in 1967 to serve during the Vietnam War. He worked for Maro Hosiery as Vice President in New York and North Carolina from 1969-1985. From 1985 until 2004, Richard was Owner and Hosiery Broker of J. Richard Grubb Sales. He was an extremely hard worker and only retired due to his declining health. He loved life and really enjoyed sports, especially when he was coaching his sons.

Survivors include his sons, Greg Grubb (Candice) and Ryan Grubb; former wife and mother of his sons, Patricia Blount (John); and his two grandsons, Maxwell and Miles.

The family would like to express their appreciation to the Salisbury VA Medical Center in Salisbury for their care for Richard and especially to the Liberty Bell Hospice Care at the VA Hospital where Richard spent his final days.
