Funeral services will be held on Thursday, October 13, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. at Hanes-Lineberry Sedgefield Chapel, 6000 West Gate City Blvd. in Greensboro. Burial will follow in Guilford Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service from 10:00 until 11:00 a.m.
Born in Guilford County, to the late Howard Vance Bailiff and Cleo Norval Daniel Bailiff, Jimmy was a graduate of Greensboro High School. He was a long-time member of Glennwood United Methodist Church and earned his Boy Scout Eagle Badge. Jimmy enjoyed playing golf, loved to travel and was an avid bird watcher. He enjoyed nothing more than spending time with his family, but always put The Lord first in his life. Jimmy was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, uncle and friend who was loved by many and will be missed by all who knew him. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife and mother of his children, Nancy C. Bailiff who went home to be with The Lord on December 16, 1992 and all three of his brothers, Vance, Wayne and Clyde.
Those left to cherish his memory include his wife Olive Davenport Bailiff; sons, Barry J. Bailiff (Angela) of Trinity and Darin C. Bailiff (Jamie) of Oak Ridge; grandchildren, Darin C. Bailiff, Jr., Ashley D Geddes, Benjamin J. Bailiff and Katie M. Bailiff; great-grandchildren, Emma, Daniel, Marley, Evie, Witten, Gunner, Lucas and Resse; along with other extended family and friends.
