Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm on Monday, May 1, 2023 at Hanes-Lineberry Sedgefield Chapel, 6000 West Gate City Blvd., Greensboro, NC 27407, with Pastor Mark Shelley officiating. Helen will be laid to rest next to her husband in Guilford Memorial Park Cemetery, immediately following the funeral services. The family will receive friends and loved ones one hour prior to the funeral at the funeral home, from 1:00 until 2:00 pm.
Helen was born on January 22, 1923, in Greensboro, to the late Grace and Edward Wilson. She was an active member of Shannon Hills Bible Chapel, formerly Forest Avenue Tabernacle. Helen was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, great great-grandmother, sister, aunt and friend who was loved by many and will be missed by all who knew her. In her younger years, she was very active in her children’s schools as a volunteer. She enjoyed sewing, ceramics, and skating. Her happiest times were spent with her loved ones at family gatherings, sitting on the back porch visiting with friends and family, enjoying the beauty of God’s creation. Helen was one of six children and she was preceded in death by all of them, as well as her husband of 66 years, Wiley Andrews.
Those left to cherish her memory include her five children, Wiley “Andy” Andrews (Sharon), Glenda Tickle (Marty), Susan Harvey (Pete), Becky Hubbard and (James), and Ernie Andrews (Dawn); nine grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; four great great-grandchildren; and other extended friends and family members.
