Greensboro- Mrs. Hazel Moore Tucker, 78, passed away October 12, 2014. Funeral services to celebrate her life will be at 2 PM on Wednesday, October 15, at Hanes-Lineberry Vanstory Chapel with interment to follow at Lakeview Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 PM tonight at the funeral home.
Hazel was born in Rockingham County to the late John Henry and Dora Haney Moore. She worked in the credit authorization department at Sears for 35 years. In 1957 she married Harrison “Cubby” Tucker. Hazel was a member of Clifton Roads/Crosspoint Baptist Church for thirty-four years. She was deeply religious and loved to hear a good sermon. She demonstrated her faith in God in daily life and encouraged her family to do the same. An avid UNC fan, Hazel was a wonderful couch coach. She enjoyed trips to the beach, camping and spending time with her family at their home at Baden Lake. She was a sweet woman who loved to socialize and will be remembered as a person not afraid to voice her opinion and protective of those she loved.
She leaves behind her husband of fifty seven years, Harrison Tucker of the home; son, Byron (Gail) Tucker of Lexington, grandchildren, Karen (Ralph) Rippo, Jonathan Tucker and Benjamin Tucker; great grandchildren, Connor Rippo and Makayla Rippo; step grandchildren, Tiffany (Bryce) Young and Jeremy (Stephanie) McKenzie; and step great-grandchildren, Natalie McKenzie and Gavin Young.
