A funeral service will be 1:00 pm on Thursday, June 22, 2023 at Hanes-Lineberry Sedgefield Chapel, 6000 West Gate City Blvd., Greensboro, NC 27407, with Pastor Danny Pruitt officiating. Harold will be laid to rest in Guilford Memorial Park Cemetery following the funeral services.
Harold was born on April 18, 1951 in Saltville, VA, to the late Wes and Pauline Nipper. He was a veteran of the Vietnam War, serving in the United States Army, 4th Infantry, from 1969 until 1972. Harold worked with Danckaert Woodworking Machinery in Atlanta, Georgia; Stiles Woodworking in Grand Rapids, Michigan; was past president of IMA Woodworking Machinery in Grand Rapids, Michigan; and then was self-employed, doing consulting work on industrial woodworking machinery. He enjoyed reading, hiking, traveling, volunteering to cut wood for anyone in need and doing general handyman jobs for the elderly. Harold was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend who was loved by many and will be missed by all who knew him.
Those left to cherish his memory include his wife, Linda; daughter, LeAnn Nichols (Kyle) of Greensboro; granddaughter, Elena Nichols of Greensboro; sister, Betty Miller of Abingdon, Virginia; brother, Roger Nipper of Abingdon, Virginia; sisters-in-law, Patricia Murray of Reidsville, North Carolina and Barbara McGinnis of Valley, Alabama; several nieces and nephews; and other extended family and friends.
