A mass of Christian burial will be held at 10:00 am on Friday, August 12, 2022 at St. Benedict’s Catholic Church in Greensboro. His final resting place will be in the columbarium at St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church.
Born in Elizabeth, NJ on January 8, 1944 to the late Edward and Anna Van Pelt, George was a member of St. Benedict’s Catholic Church. He served in the United States Army during Vietnam and was stationed in Alaska. George retired from Rumsey Electric Company in Pennsylvania, after 30 years of employment and prior to that, he worked at Fromm Electric in Cherry Hill, NJ. He was a loving a devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend who was loved by many and will be missed by all who knew him. George was an avid Mets and Giants fan but, his true passion was his grandchildren and children. George also enjoyed vacationing in Florida with his adoring wife. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Robin Van Pelt, and his two brothers, Edward and John.
Those left to cherish his memory include his wife of 57 years, Roberta Van Pelt; daughter, Jill Gaccione and husband, Craig; granddaughters, Olivia and Julia Gaccione; and other extended family and friends.
